Our Values

At Baldacci Family Vineyards, sustainability and social responsibility are at the forefront of our winery practices and vineyard management. We believe that caring for our land, our people, and our community is a critical component in producing the best wine possible.

Organics & Sustainability in the Vineyard

Our estate vineyards in the Stags Leap District and Calistoga are farmed in accordance with CCOF (California Certified Organic Farmers) standards, with a deep respect for the land that sustains us. We rely on hands-on vineyard practices—including manual pruning, suckering, fruit thinning, and harvesting—while minimizing tractor use to reduce fuel consumption and soil compaction.

Regenerative farming plays an important role in our vineyard stewardship. Grazing animals, including sheep, are used for under-vine cultivation, naturally managing weeds while supporting healthy, balanced soils. Throughout our vineyards, bird and owl boxes provide safe habitats for beneficial wildlife that help control rodent and pest populations. Seasonal cover crops further enhance soil health by increasing organic matter, improving nutrient balance, and preventing erosion.

We also follow Integrated Pest Management (IPM) principles, encouraging a natural balance between plants, insects, and animals. By planting bird-attractant species and fostering a diverse ecosystem, we allow nature to do much of the work, supporting resilient vineyards and healthy vines year after year.

Winery Sustainability

At Baldacci Family Vineyards, sustainability is at the heart of everything we do, from water conservation to eco-friendly packaging.

Mindful of California’s drought, we prioritize water conservation with an innovative wastewater system introduced in 2021. This system redirects all winery wastewater to our vineyards, significantly reducing onsite waste and decreasing our dependence on groundwater.

We are equally intentional in our packaging choices. Our bottles, sourced from Gallo Glass, are made with 50% recycled glass, reducing the environmental impact of production. Through our partnership with Amorim Cork America, we use natural cork closures, which helped sequester 33.4 tons of carbon in 2023, capturing up to 288g of CO₂ per still wine stopper and 562g of CO₂ per sparkling wine stopper.

Sustainability also extends to our hospitality spaces. Our Estate House highlights locally sourced, artisan foods from family-owned businesses, avoids disposable service items, and partners with Upper Valley Disposal Services for recycling and composting, helping reduce landfill waste while supporting community agriculture.

People & Community

Alongside our sustainability efforts, we are deeply committed to supporting the people and organizations that make Napa Valley thrive. We actively engage with local nonprofits, participate in charitable initiatives, and provide meaningful annual contributions to causes that strengthen our community.

Each year, we partner with local organizations to amplify their impact. In 2022, we donated over $12,000 to Puertas Abiertas Community Resource Center, supporting and empowering Latinx families. In 2023, we contributed over $17,000 to Napa CASA, advocating for the safety and well-being of children in foster care. In 2024, we committed $10,000 to Community Action of Napa Valley (CANV), which provides critical resources including food security, housing support, and essential services to families in need.

In 2025, our charitable contributions totaled $30,000, supporting organizations strengthening agriculture, education, youth development, and community connection in Napa Valley. Our top supported charities included Napa Valley Farmworker Foundation, Napa Valley College Wine Education Center, Napa County 4-H and FFA, and the Napa Valley Vine Trail Coalition.

Our commitment to people and community extends to our own team as well. We prioritize continuous education and competitive compensation to ensure our employees can live and thrive right here in Napa County. As an equal opportunity employer, we are proud to foster a welcoming, safe, and inclusive workplace where everyone is treated with respect.
